As a young girl I was always mesmerized by the sprawling aisles of a foreign grocery store. Little did I know that this fascination would evolve into a fulfilling career.
My journey into the world of nutrition wasn’t a straightforward one. Food and cooking intrigued me, but the idea of studying nutrition was a distant thought. However, fate intervened, and I found myself immersed in a course that introduced me to the science of food. It was during this time that I rediscovered my passion, fueled by my own athletic pursuits.
Specializing in sports nutrition felt like finding my niche. I was excited to delve into the intricate relationship between food and performance. The opportunity to work with Indian athletes was a dream come true. From the high-octane world of the Indian Premier League to the rigorous training regimes of the national hockey team, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the success of these extraordinary individuals.
Balancing the demands of a high-performance environment with the complexities of personal life was undoubtedly challenging. Juggling the role of a nutritionist, a team member, and a soon-to-be mother was a test of endurance for me. Yet, it was during these demanding times that I learned the true meaning of resilience and adaptability.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is debunking myths and misconceptions about nutrition.
The world of food is filled with misinformation, and it’s my responsibility to cut through the noise and provide evidence-based guidance. Whether it’s dispelling the gluten-free hype or clarifying the difference between brown and white eggs, I strive to empower people with knowledge.
I believe that true health is about making sustainable lifestyle choices. It’s not about restrictive diets or quick fixes. It’s about enjoying a variety of foods, listening to your body, and finding a balance that works for you.
Beyond the realm of elite athletes, I’m passionate about making nutrition accessible to everyone. It’s about understanding that while personalized plans are crucial, there are fundamental principles that apply to all. Whether you’re a busy professional, a student juggling exams, or a parent trying to nourish a growing family, prioritizing nutrition is essential. I believe in creating a supportive community where people can share their experiences, ask questions, and find inspiration.
